It is common practice in the music industry to share writers royalties pertaining to streams, etc. between all parties involved in the songwriting process. We treat our artists fairly and expect the same treatment in return.

As the musical composer of all instrumentals on this website, we share 50% of the final song created with instrumentals licensed from our website with the recording artists who use them.

Note: All License holders (lease & exclusive) are required to register our composer information prior or immediately upon song release. 

Please follow the steps below when registering your song with your Performance Rights Organization (Ascap, BMI, etc.) that contains our music:
Enter the following info for Planet Hum’ writer information:
– David Anthony as Composer
– ASCAP
– IPI# 581435739 (this is our ASCAP writer ID)

When registering your song, If you don’t own an Exclusive license, you cannot enter publishing info in the publishing section as Planet Hum South Beach (ASCAP) owns the publishing on all beats in our catalog unless that beat is sold exclusively which then the new exclusive rights holder would own 50% publishing with Planet Hum South Beach.

A lease is the rental of property. In this case, music (beats).

Leasing music is much more affordable for some artists and is a great way to do a mixtape or demo before committing to an exclusive ownership license which is more expensive but gives you full ownership and publishing rights.

In some cases, artists will lease beats, write and record to them, then come back and purchase an exclusive license granting them full access to publishing, making them the sole owner of the instrumental. The beat is then removed from our store forever and will not be resold, making you the “exclusive license holder”. Please keep in mind that if there is a beat you would like “exclusively” you should aim to purchase it as quickly as you possibly can as there is no guarantee that it will be in our store in the future.
